When you want your rear door to stay open no matter how steep an incline you are pointed down, this is the kit for you. Purpose built for over laden rear doors wearing extra large tires and equipment. Smooth operation allows the rear door to be easily opened and closed. Expedition proven for extreme duty. Features stainless steel mounting brackets.

FITS: All Series and pre-2002 Defender side-hinged rear doors. Modification required on Defenders that were not fitted with later rear door panels.

NOTE: When fitting to early vehicles that do not have a mounting bracket fitted for the door retainer rod use RNN221 for mounting bracket and RNN701 for backing plate for mounting bracket. This mounting bracket locates on the interior RH rear body sidewall as shown in the photo in black. Will not work with RNA2100 & RNA2101 Rear Molded Interior Door Panel without modifications to the panels.

INSTALLATION TIP: Install with the rear door at an 80-degree angle to the rear body when the strut is fully extended.
